Vintage Ingredient, Ageless Therapy

Vinotherapy is one skincare treatment experiencing an incredible resurgence in international popularity. Why? Because it heroes one of nature’s most potent anti-ageing ingredients, also our favourite drinkable fruit, whilst also impressing an increasingly sustainability-conscious population at the same time

As its name suggests, ‘vinotherapy’ is all about wine, the winemaking process, and most importantly its key ingredient— the grape. Wine production leaves pulp, pips, skin, and stems behind— excess that is proven to be some of nature’s richest sources of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Vinotherapy is a process in which the leftover grape, combined with hardworking oils and extracts, transfers the fantastic health benefits of the grape onto the body

Grapes have been recognised for their health benefits for centuries, and more recently research has proven why – grape seeds, skin and stems have been found to be rich in polyphenols and resveratrol. Polyphenols (found in grape seeds) are a type of plant metabolite with rich antioxidant abilities that protect the body from free radicals, while resveratrol (found in grape skins), slows the ageing process, promotes new cell growth, and tightens the skin. Together they help to form a protective barrier over the skin, retaining moisture, promoting tissue elasticity, and producing a dewy, youthful appearance

Vinotherapy is being celebrated not only as one of the most effective anti-ageing health practices, but equally as one of the most environmentally friendly. By working with as much of the fruit as possible, and reusing the spoils, wineries are promoting and participating in a sustainable cycle

Hunter Lab have partnered with Willow Creek Vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula to harness the skincare benefits of the post-vintage Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grapes to produce our vinotherapy skin tools. We are proud to have continued our collaboration with Jackalope Hotel, who have recently incorporated our Pinot Grape Skin Bath Soak and Pinot Grape Skin Body Scrub into their newest ‘Wine Therapy’ treatment offering

Available to both in-house and day guests of Mornington Peninsula’s Jackalope Hotel, ‘Wine Therapy’ is a two-hour wellness session featuring Hunter Lab’s latest grape-infused skincare tools

The treatment begins with a foot immersion in our Pinot Grape Skin Bath Soak, followed by the application of our Pinot Grape Skin Body Scrub. Guests then have the opportunity to rinse in the natural serenity of Jackalope’s rain shower before they are treated to a 60-minute oil-based relaxation massage. The therapy concludes with a full-body moisturise using our Hand & Body Lotion
