How to care for your skin health whilst wearing a face mask
While we adjust to the important act of introducing a face mask to our daily uniform, our skin is also adjusting
Masks can increase temperature, moisture and friction around the face, making the skin more susceptible to irritation or congestion
Here are four simple actions to keep your skin healthy whilst covered up
1. Wear Correctly
Find the best fit for your face; ensure the mask isn’t too tight and not too loose that it slides ad causes friction. Taking regular 15 minute mask breaks where possible also allows your skin to breathe
2. Rinse well
Keep your skin fresh and clean by remembering to rinse your face immediately after wearing a mask for a prolonged period of time. This will to help minimise the impact on your skin by removing surface sweat and debris. Either splashing the face with lukewarm water or wiping with a damp wash cloth
3. Double Cleanse
Mask-wearers may experience an increase in congestion as the mask traps breath, creating a sub-optimal environment for the skin
Introduce double cleanse with the Charcoal Cleansing Stick to alleviate some of that congestion cause by wearing the mask for long periods of time. The first cleanse removes any makeup or trapped bacteria that has gathered throughout the day. The second cleanse allows the skin deep purification
4. Exfoliate
Combat congested skin by upping your Cleansing Facial Scrub to two to three times per week to gently exfoliate the skin and remove build up for a clear complexion.
